A forecasting tool for small businesses, built in the open

datascience.co.id is building a no-code forecasting tool for Indonesian small businesses. We are starting with coffee shops and food and beverage businesses. The datascience.co.id blog has been publishing since May 2024; the forecasting tool itself only began in October 2026.

01The problem we want to solve

Many small businesses already have sales records from a cash register or Excel, but can only see what has already happened. The questions that actually matter, such as “how many kilos of coffee beans should I stock tomorrow?”, go unanswered. Existing analytics tools are mostly blank canvases that expect you to learn how to build dashboards.

We want to give the answer directly: upload a file and get a stock and sales forecast, together with how confident that forecast is.

02How we work

• Honest about the product stage. Features that do not exist yet are marked “coming soon” or “planned”.
• Estimates, not certainties. Every forecast comes with a confidence level based on a backtest on your own data. Business decisions remain yours.
• Your data stays yours. In the demo, files are processed in your browser and are not sent to a server. Sign-up data is not sold.
• Everyday language. No technical parameters for you to configure.

03What we are working on now

• Talking with coffee shop and F&B owners about their stock problems.
• Collecting historical data from a few beta participants to test model accuracy on real data.
• Preparing a simple interface: one upload screen, one results screen.
